Hunting? Don’t Forget Your Cartridge Belts.

Cartridge Belts have been used by the hunter, sports enthusiast and soldier for hundreds of years in different configurations. The arrows for the crosbow and English longbow needed to be kept on hand. The same is true for cartridges. From the time of the musket when the ball, powder and powder horn needed to be kept nearby, to the present day combat soldier in Afghanistan, cartridges need to be readily available.

For the ordinary hunter, sportsman and survivalist a cartridge belt is very important. Of course if you need vast amounts of ammunition there are the metal boxes, similar to the 5.56 cartridge size boxes. An ordinary supply could be held in either a box type cartridge pouch, which will loop onto your belt. The other choices are ordinary belts with buckles and pockets for the ammunition.

The size of the cartridge belt will vary, depending upon whether you are carrying shotgun shells, pistol ammo or rifle ammo. They will all hold up to 15 cartridges so it is recommended that you bring your store of ammunition in a metal case, unless you do not plan on doing a lot of shooting.

All the cartridge belts should be made of leather. If not, a waterproof canvas will do the job. The belts need to be made from materials not affected by water. We have a wide selection of styles and price ranges. Like everything else it is wise to purchase in quantity; at least 2 of the type of cartridge belt desired. You want to be well-prepared for all eventualities. Choose your style and good hunting!
